If you enjoy having a a cocktail every once in a while, leave your money out of the casino if you plan to do your consuming in a casino. I am serious. Clean out your pocketbook, your money belt, and keep all cash, credit cards and checks at home. Pack whatever cash you expect to spend on drinks, tipping and only the pocket change you intend to burn and leave the remainder behind.
Pessimistic? Not by any means. Just realistic. You could have a win following a drunken night out with your friends and be lucky sufficiently to hook a 25 minute toss at a on fire craps table. Don’t forget that account because it’s as short-lived as it gets if you always drink and bet. The two simply don’t go well together.
Keeping your cash out of the casino is a tiny bit excessive, but defensive measures for excessive behavior is necessary. If you gamble to win, then don’t drink and play. If you like to be wasteful with your assets nary a worry, then drink all the no charge beer you can handle, but do not carry credit cards and chequebooks to toss into the mix of chasing losses after your bombed head throws away all the cash!
